How to use stock photos to grow your wellness brand

So, you've tapped into the stunning Wellness Stock Shop photo collection, but now you're wondering, "How can I actually use these?".

I'm here to share everything you need to know as a Wellness Stock Shop member, including:

  • Our easy usage terms, so you'll never wonder whether you're breaking "the rules"
  • The deets around how you can use the photos for your client projects (for the designers in the room) or in a guest post
  • Creative freedom guidelines, so you feel comfortable altering the photos to suit your needs
  • 10 ways to use your stock photos to grow your business

Wellness Stock Shop was created to make the lives of bloggers and small business owners easier. And to build confidence, connection and credibility among your audience to grow your brand.

So... let's clear up any hesitations now and get you leveraging beautiful photos to boost your business.

Simple Usage Terms

Unlike many big, stuffy stock photo sites with confusing rules and fine print, my motto is simplicity.

Wellness Stock Shop usage terms are designed to make sense for small business owners and to cover your most common daily usage needs.

You can use Wellness Stock Shop photos in nearly any way you need to promote, market, and grow your business, including on your website, blog, social media, printed marketing material and beyond.

Actually, It's easier for me to tell you how you can't use the photos.

Here's what you can NOT do with Wellness Stock Shop photos:

  • Claim ownership of them
  • Sell them
  • Give them to others to use (even as part of a design, like Instagram Story graphics)
  • Upload to someone else's social media feed (even if they're a client - they'll need to purchase their own membership)
  • Use them in goods for resale, like books (Pssst... you can purchase extended usage rights for this)

If there's anything you're still unsure about, you can refer to our Buyer's Agreement.

Pro Tip: Each stock source has different usage terms. It's important to know and understand the usage terms for every stock site you purchase from.

What About Cropping, Adding Text & Giving Photo Credit?

You can crop, overlay your text or watermark, and modify the photos in any way that helps you brand and promote your business.

You have creative freedom!

In most cases, you don't need to give photo credit. All photos you purchase or download via your membership are royalty free.

However, with the special exception of guest posting, I do ask that you include photo credit (more details below).

Using Photos For Client Work

Good news for designers.

As an active Annual Unlimited member, you can upload images into website designs, digital and print marketing materials and templates on behalf of individual clients (up to 40 images per individual client), as long as the image is in some way altered and as long as the image cannot be extracted.

However, please note that it is not allowed to gift the photos to clients or post to social media on behalf of a client. Your client will simply need to purchase their own membership for that.

Guest Posting

Were you invited to submit a guest post for a blog or magazine? Woohoo!

Beautiful photos will help your article stand out.

You can include Wellness Stock Shop photos in your submission as long as the image is in some way altered and as long as the image cannot be extracted.

For guest posts, please include proper photo credit as:

I love your generosity in gifting beautiful stock images along with providing ways to use them for my business-for that I'm grateful. Like you, I'm a passionate entrepreneur and I love working with likeminds and I believe in reciprocity. Please share all the ways to support your endeavors.

    • Briena Sash on May 19, 2016 at 7:34 am

Kelly, thank you so much for your beautiful response. I am SO much about supporting one another. And I appreciate you deeply for your thoughtfulness! Your positive response by commenting, alone, is so helpful for me. It gives me a ton of encouragement to know that people are benefiting from my offer. I appreciate all engagement and feedback on social media, and... if you use one of the images on there, I LOVE to see how you used it! You share by using #wellnessstockshop and @wellnessstockshop.

And, finally... sharing the giveaway on your FB feed... with your friends and groups that you think could benefit from the gift of beautiful wellness photos means the world to me and helps to spread the love.

Thank you, again for your wonderful response.

Great photos you have! I love the energy of them. I was wondering what font you used for the first photo where it says welcome? Do you use Canva, indesign or other program to make the fb covers and social media posts?

    • Briena Sash on May 26, 2016 at 3:04 pm

      Hello Lovely Anette!

I'm so happy you're enjoying the photos. I can't honestly remember which fancy font that was, but you can be sure to find it in Canva. Although I use Photoshop for most things professional, I also love Canva for super quick designs... and that's exactly the program I used to create all the samples in this "Ten Savvy Ways to Use Your Stock Photos" post. Canva is such an awesome resource!

      Love, Briena

Im in the process of focusing HOW I want to proceed with my "business" page and my blog ... these photos are a great starting point. Thanks!

  9. Karen Quinn on August 9, 2016 at 2:05 am

I was so excited to find such a beautiful resource, I signed up immediately to your amazing founder member offer. I love that almost everything here is relevant to my business in some way. Trawling my way through the bigger sites is too hard for my squirrel brain, but here I can go off on a tangent and still be "reasonably" on task!

I used one of your images in a PDF I've made as a give-away for my email list (my first ever!). It looks beautiful and I'm genuinely proud of it.

    • Briena Sash on August 10, 2016 at 10:32 am

Karen, this makes me over-the-moon happy to hear! I'm so honored to have you as a founding member and to know the Wellness Stock Shop has been such an awesome resource for you so far. I can't wait to hear about what you create in the future!

      Love, Briena xo

  10. Kate Broughton on August 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm

Thanks Briena! Your images and ideas are super helpful. I've used one in a marketing campaign already!

    Kind wishes
