It's Okay To Combine Your Own Snapshots With Stock Photos

But make sure your photos reflect the quality of your brand

The number one key to growing on Instagram is to share beautiful, quality photos.

But, If you're like most people who aren't pro-photographers, you probably don't have tens of thousands of dollars to sink into pricey photography equipment... and you probably don't have the time to devote to learning all the ins-and-outs of photography.

That's okay.

Stock photos are an amazing resource to save you tons of time and money while creating a beautiful Instagram feed that grows your business.

Wellness Stock Shop offers the perfect, natural-feeling stock photos that Instagram followers love. It's the perfect resource to find ready-to-post healthy food photos and all things wellness-related.

You can tap into a photo membership or one of these luscious, healthy photo bundles to start boosting your gram today.

If you use mostly professional imagery like the Instagram-boosting stock photos to market your business... you can supplement these photos with your own snapshots.

The most important thing to consider when using your own photos, however, is whether the image is pleasant enough that your potential clients want to see it, and it doesn't devalue your brand.

No Need To Invest In Pricey Photo Equipment

Pssst... this trick is free!

As a professional photographer, I'd love to give you some tips on how to easily step up the look of your DIY healthy food photos... to make sure you're able to get out your message, inspire your community and grow your Instagram followers.

Don't worry... you won't need hundreds or thousands of dollars to achieve better results. The trick I'm going to share with you today is the single best things you can do to improve your food photos... and t's 100% free.

Very helpful tips, thank you Briena!
My photos tend to turn yellow :(, although I don't use a lamp or the phone's flashlight. Here is a sad example: Any tips on how to avoid this?

    • Briena Sash on April 21, 2016 at 6:45 pm

Hi Alina, I'm so happy you found these tips helpful! I took a look at your site, and you're doing a great job... that banana bread looks scrumptious! So, I know exactly the problem you're having with your phone camera. It has to do with the "white balance" or the temperature of the photo. On a manual camera, you'd be able to adjust for the temperature. Unfortunately, these phones - even the savvy iPhone - auto adjusts, according to what it thinks looks good. You don't have a manual option for adjusting the temperature, or how warm/yellow the images look. The only way to do this would be in post-processing, after you've taken the photo. You'll need an app for this, and the most popular app (which I use) is Camera Plus. In the app, you'll be able to find a "temperature" adjustment, which looks like a little thermometer and will allow you to slide a bar to make your photo warmer (more yellow), or cooler (more blue). The app also includes tons of other helpful stuff, like sharpening and blurring if you need it. One other thing I noticed in your photos, and I'm not sure whether this is just a web thing... they don't look as crisp and focused as I'd like to see them. One way you can play with this is to tap your phone screen on the area you want to be in focus. Sometimes if you're too close to the subject, the camera won't be able to focus. If that's the case, just back up a tiny bit and try again. You can crop the image in closer later if you want. I hope this helps! Thanks for connecting!
