Do you ever find yourself scrambling around your kitchen, looking for something decent to display your most recent culinary masterpiece? How can you display it to look as amazing and scrumptious as it tastes?
Displaying your food can be tricky... right?
Well let me help you out a bit by giving you a few tips on 7 common household items to make sure you've got on-hand and ready to use the next time you create a share-worthy concoction.
Here's a Sneak Peek...
Here are a few sneak peek photos of the useful display items I'll be going over in more detail in this nifty video I made for you.
A few Tips, Before We Get Started...
Here are a few tips I'll go over in the video on what to look for when you're choosing your display pieces, but I want to emphasize them by going over them here too...
You'll notice there's a lot of white and clear glass. This is for a good reason. Light colors that give the feeling of cleanliness are best.
- Avoid bold colors like red and yellow. Not only do they distract from your food, but red and yellow in particular are very warm colors, they don't photograph well, and they don't give off a 'clean' feeling.
- Avoid patters. Light patterns can be fun, if you're experienced at using them... but for ease and simplicity, I would recommend avoiding patterns in order to avoid creating 'busy/distracting' imagery.
- Natural elements like wood, bamboo and fresh cut herbs as garnish can add a wonderful, inviting, home-y feel to your images.
Watch The Video
I have to acknowledge how awesome I am at video making. Totally lying right now... although I'm a photographer, I am definitely not a videographer.
