Just When You Thought Your Instagram Posts Didn't Matter...
Think posting on Instagram isn't a big deal and it doesn't matter if you post attractive imagery? What good is it going to do for your business, hardly anyone follows you anyways? Turns out, Instagram isn't ONLY about looking at pretty pictures and high schoolers obsessively posting selfies... Instagram is only continuing to grow in popularity and engagement, and big companies are continuing to increase their investments in marketing on the social media platform... that speaks loudly and clearly as to the potential Instagram has to be a powerful marketing tool... if used correctly.
We're not here for Social Media Marketing 101 today, but what I would like to stress is that Instagram and other social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook can be a powerful marketing tools to reach your clients... and, regardless of which platform you use, the quality of what you post matters.
Don't Post Just Anything... Your Efforts May Be Hurting You
Let's talk about why it's important to take good pictures for social media. I will tell you from experience, that if I check out an Instagram feed and it's full of sad-looking, or unappetizing food images... I won't even consider following that feed. I just want to get outa there as fast as possible. Ugly food isn't just uninteresting to look at... it's just gross.
Not only that, but I'm not likely to follow tips and advice from a feed that looks unprofessional.
Bad photos look unprofessional.
Something to take away from this... your positive intentions and efforts in getting active on social media may actually hurt your business and waste your time, if your photos suck.

Engagement has quadrupled in two years. This is good news for businesses adopting the social network and great news for companies that were early adopters and have already built up a following.
Why Put in the Effort?

Why do people follow feeds on Instagram? To see pretty pictures. Yes? Right there... that's really all the reason you need to post better, more attractive imagery.
